GoldenAge Simulations offer another classic aircraft from the Pitcairn family. These classic aircraft models are presented in high quality and with great realism. Go back in time and enjoy classic vintage aircraft like this in FSX or P3D.

The Pitcairn Mailwings were developed by Pitcairn to carry Air Mail for the U.S. Postal Service.

Of simple and robust construction, they also had relatively benign flying characteristics. Pitcairn also built the same aircraft in sport versions for private use. These Sport aircraft had the mail compartment removed, and a side-by-side 2-seat cockpit was fitted.

The Goldenage Simulations Pitcairn PA-5 package contains 2 versions of the PA-5; the Mailwing and Sport Mailwing. Both powered by the Wright J-5 "Whirlwind of 220 hp.

The liveries of the mail carriers represent east coast contract air mail routes 19, 20 and 25. Each livery is distressed in some way to represent working aircraft.

The Sportwing versions are represented in the liveries which at one time or another graced the highly modified PA-5 designed for and flown by Harold Pitcairn.

All of the models are designed to be flown from the virtual cockpit and there is no 2D panel. Also due to the nature of the texture maps, FSX requires that SP2 be installed. Acceleration is not required but will work if you have it as the Acceleration expansion includes Service Pack 2. No modification to P3D 1.4 or 2.1 is required.

This package includes a bonus scenery add-on of the original Pitcairn Field and factory in Pitcairn Field 1, Bryn Athyn PA. It faithfully depicts the field as it may have been in 1927.
