THE DEW LINE

The DEW Line - short for Distant Early Warning Line - was an integrated chain of more than 50 radar and communication stations stretching 3,000 miles from the northwest coast of Alaska to the eastern shore of Greenland. It was within the Arctic Circle over its entire length, and for much of the distance crossed country at that time unexplored. The purpose of the DEW Line was to provide the United States and Canada with the earliest possible warning of the approach of airborne objects over the polar region. Its advantage was the extra time it gave to rally defenses which could mean the difference between successful defense or national disaster.


Now for the first time in FSX, you are provided with six DEW Line Stations to fly to. The included weather themes give you the experience of those skies way up north. All Stations have been finished and their radars are searching the Cold War Skies. These flights will entise you to learn more about this Line of Defence of the  "Dangerous Years" when we all were on the alert. These flights were restricted to DEW Line personnel so make sure you carry the DEW Line pilots ID !!!
