The first Falcon 50 prototype flew in November 1976, and Trijet deliveries began in 1979. It was the first business jet capable of crossing the Atlantic Ocean with legal fuel reserves, thanks to its new supercritical wing design. It had a wing span and a length of about 61 feet. It was originally powered by three Garrett TFE 731-3 turbofan engines, giving it a range of over 3000 nautical miles, a cruise speed of 430 knots, and a ceiling of 45,000 feet. It could take off at around 4700 feet and land at around 2700 feet. The Falcon 50 was updated in the mid-1990s with improved TFE 731 engines, new avionics, and other improvements, and the designation was changed to Falcon 50EX. The company manufactured 252 Falcon 50s and 100 Falcon 50EXs. The production ceased in 2008.
Almost every function in the cabin and virtual cockpit has been animated. We have accurate systems down to the smallest details thanks to custom coding. We have included one model for users who use the payware Flight 1 GNS 530 GTN 650/750, Reality XP GNS 530 GTN 650/750, or Milviz WX Advantage Radar units, as well as Flysimware's GNS 530 GPS unit with a working VNAV system. If you do not own the radar, the model will be static. If you own a weather radar, it will activate.
The Falcon 50 comes with a custom sound set from Flysimware to give you the sensation of being in a real jet. The Collins APS-85 autopilot system and Collins flight instruments are used in the Falcon 50. Some new features include an active TCAS built into the VSI gauge and an external panel management tool that lets you select which GPS unit to load. We also included two popup windows for on-the-fly instructions to guide you through the startup process. Flysimware keeps improving the quality of the product with each new project. Using the 3DS MAX modeling program, we have improved the AO effects in both the inside and outside models.
