This realistic simulation of the F/A-18E, F, and G Super Hornets for FSX, FSX: Steam Edition, and Prepar3D was created after a lot of research.
The Super Hornet first flew in 1995, with full production starting two years later and the aircraft entering US Navy service in 2001. After the Grumman F-14 Tomcat retired in 2006, the Super Hornet took over in the fleet defense and strike roles. The 'E' Hornet is a strike attack and fleet defense fighter with high commonality between all three airframe types, supported in both roles by the twin-seat 'F' version, while the EA-18G 'Growler' performs an airborne electronic countermeasure role while retaining full combat capability. All three types have seen active service with the US Navy in various theaters around the world. The Royal Australian Air Force also uses the Super Hornet.
The DC Designs F/A-18 Super Hornets have been meticulously detailed, with a wide range of high-definition paint schemes, realistic user-defined payloads (including guided missiles, rockets, bombs, external fuel tanks, and reconnaissance pods), and detailed animations. The plane has both front and back pilot seats and a real 3D virtual cockpit with smoothly moving 3D instruments and custom-coded avionics and systems.
SimWorks Studios' CEX aircraft carriers have full radio navigation compatibility. Tune into the appropriate frequency, obtain a range and bearing, and navigate to a SWS aircraft carrier in any weather, day or night. No more wasting time looking for a place to land in the middle of the ocean!
