Ted Stevens International Airport (PANC) in Anchorage is Alaska's most important airport and a hub for many national and international flights. It is an important cargo airport and a hub for Alaska Airlines, located conveniently between the United States and Asia.
Roads are scarce in this vast state, and they are restricted to the major cities. Only aircraft, often floatplanes or small planes equipped for off-airport landings, can access the vast wilderness. And the 'Ted Stevens' International Airport in Anchorage is at the heart of a lot of it. When you combine the harsh weather and the long hours of darkness in the winter, you have an airport that is remarkable in every way and deserving of a superb rendering for Flight Simulator.
Lake Hood, the world's largest seaplane base, is located right next to PANC, accessible via a taxiway connection that crosses several streets. A dirt strip called "Z41" is located near Lake Hood and is used by aircraft with tundra equipment (special wheels to enable landing on unpaved strips in the wilderness).
Installation runs via Aerosoft One, this requires an internet connection and an Aerosoft user account!
